Michael Cornish

Policy Lead

Michael is a public policy professional with expertise in economics, law, the environment, and international relations. He leads ALCA’s policy agenda and works closely with ALCA member organisations to advance policy and regulation that accelerates land conservation.

Previously, Michael served as a Policy Adviser to the Group of Eight universities and as Senior Policy Adviser to Ms. Rebekha Sharkie, Member for Mayo.

His consultancy and project management experience spans organisations including the OECD, APEC, ASEAN, AusAID/DFAT, CSIRO, and the United Nations, focusing on development economics, environmental policy, and international trade. Michael also sits on the board of Conservation Council SA and the South Australian Government’s Native Vegetation Council.

Michael holds advanced degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Sydney.
