Victoria Marles AM

Chair

Victoria has played a critical and leading role in the evolution of ALCA since it formed in 2011, and was appointed the Deputy Chairperson after ALCA incorporated in 2019, and Chair in 2023. Victoria led ALCA member Trust for Nature as CEO from 2009 to 2022, guiding the organisation’s work protecting biodiversity in the state of Victoria. Prior to this role, she was Victoria’s Legal Services Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Legal Services Board.  As a lawyer, Victoria specialised in media and communications law and policy and was the Deputy Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and prior to that the Deputy Director of the Communications Law Centre.  In addition to her responsibilities at Trust for Nature, she is on the steering committee of the International Land Conservation Network and the Australian Business Biodiversity Initiative. Victoria is also a director of Yarra Valley Water and chair of the heritage site Abbotsford Convent Foundation.
