Whilst outlining some high-level issues, ALCA is nonetheless generally supportive of the outlined approach in the EKS for maintaining information and supporting decision-making as it relates to ecosystems conservation.
ALCA submission on the Nature Repair Market Ecological Knowledge System (EKS)
In supporting the EKS, ALCA outlines some high-level issues that will require resolution, including:
- A plan that provides clarity on how further methods will be supported by the EKS
- How information and data gaps will be addressed
- Clarity on when on-ground assessment and verification will be required
- How Environment Information Australia will be deployed (if at all) to assist with the EKS
