The pace and scale of the buffel grass invasion is extremely concerning due to the significant impacts on conservation and cultural values, the landscape-scale impacts on vegetation, fauna, and the fire risk posed by buffel.
ALCA's key recommendations to the SA Government include:
~ Advocate for Federal Government funding for a nationally coordinatedinvestment into the prevention, eradication and containment of buffel grass.
~ Follow through on the commitment to continue to fund the Government’sState Buffel Grass Coordinator role.
~ Continue to support the Weeds ofNational Significance (‘WONS’) listing for buffel grass.
